Louis Isaacs

	Louis (Coondog) Isaacs, 86, of DuQuoin, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2000 at his residence.  
	Louis was a retired Shuttle Car Operator for Peabody Coal Co. at Freeburg, IL.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in DuQuoin and the UMWA Local 1812.
	He was born August 11, 1914 at DuQuoin, the son of Walter and Ida (Charlton) Isaacs.  He married Mabel Scarber on April 17, 1936 at Chester and she survives.
	He is survived by his wife of DuQuoin; three children, June Terry and husband James of Independence, MO, JoAnn Lemmons of DuQuoin and Howard Isaacs and wife Carol of Pinckneyville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four nephews and four nieces.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura Bishop and Mary Gilliam; one brother, Orville Isaacs; son-in-law, Danny S. Lemmons and grandson, Danny Ray Lemmons.
	Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 18 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating.
	Friends were able to call from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
